The WNBA has paused for the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup and will resume its regular season on Sept. 17. All teams will have four more games and the eight clubs that have already clinched a playoff spot can use the opportunities to improve their seeding.
This season has been a banner one for the league, which is enjoying unprecedented ratings and an influx of attention. Some of that is due to myriad controversies that have spun out, but the action on the court has been great as the WNBA can boast a bevy of high-end superstars.
