The Murfreesboro area has announced its nominees for the TSSAA boys athlete of the week for the period of August 24-30, highlighting several standout performances from local high school football players. Fans can participate in the voting process to determine who will earn the title.
Leading the pack is Kemani Bass> of Oakland, who delivered an impressive performance against Centerville, Ohio. Bass rushed for 126 yards on just seven carries, finding the end zone three times as his team secured a decisive 50-20 victory.
Another notable nominee is Quintin Carson from Siegel, who despite his team's 28-14 loss to Lebanon, managed to rush for 83 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his resilience and talent on the field.
Benton Fox of Eagleville also had a remarkable game, contributing significantly to his team's 35-0 triumph over Community. Fox rushed for 41 yards on eight carries and threw for 121 yards, completing two touchdown passes, demonstrating his dual-threat capabilities.
Romeo George from Rockvale is another contender, having played a pivotal role in his team's narrow 31-30 victory over Station Camp. George amassed 193 rushing yards on 15 carries and scored three touchdowns, proving to be a key player in a tightly contested match.
Meanwhile, AJ Jackson of Smyrna showcased his skills in a close 29-28 defeat to Hendersonville, completing 12 of 20 passes for 161 yards and a touchdown, in addition to rushing for another touchdown.
Defensively, Judah Jansen from MTCS made his mark with nine tackles and two interceptions in a 16-7 loss to Grace Christian-Franklin, highlighting his impact on the defensive side of the game.
Other nominees include Nate Lamb from PCA, who threw for four touchdowns in a 28-17 win over Cannon County, Jayden McKnight from Stewarts Creek, who scored a touchdown in a 38-21 loss to Stratford, and Micah Nance from Blackman, who rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns in a commanding 47-0 win over Cane Ridge.
Lastly, Luke Tritch from Riverdale made a significant contribution with five receptions for 152 yards and two touchdowns in a 45-3 victory over Father Ryan.
