As previously reported on the DN and elsewhere, the Minnesota Vikings hosted free agent outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy for a visit on Tuesday. That visit apparently went well as Tom Pelissero is reporting that Van Noy is signing with the Vikings.

Apparently Van Noy will start on the practice squad, which is likely a temporary move as the Vikings finagle their roster in advance of the regular season.
Van Noy has played under Brian Flores in New England and Miami, but things didn’t end well in Miami after he was cut one year into a four-year, $51 million contract. But apparently Van Noy and Flores were able to mend fences and will work together again in Minnesota. Van Noy also played with Andrew Van Ginkel in Miami.
Van Noy is 35 but has fared well into his 30s, chalking up 14 sacks among 56 quarterback pressures as recently as 2024. He’s also a solid run defender and when dropping in coverage.
Wow. Joe Burrow is picked off by Kyle Van Noy, who then hands it off to Alohi Gilman — and he goes 95 yards for a Ravens TD.

Van Noy will provide some much needed depth for the Vikings outside linebacker group and is a perfect fit for Brian Flores’ scheme, which he has played in previous iterations of in the past.
Terms of the deal are not yet available.
