Padres 2B Rengifo has torn ACL, will have surgery

San Diego Padres second baseman Luis Rengifo, 29, initially diagnosed with a knee sprain, will undergo season-ending surgery for a torn ACL in his right knee, the team said, adding that imaging revealed the full extent of the injury.
