Rams sign 17 players to practice squad: Keenan, Lampkin return

The Los Angeles Rams have not only set their 53-man roster, but they've now finalized their initial practice squad. On Monday, the team signed 17 players to the practice squad. All 17 of them were just cut by the Rams on Sunday, as Los Angeles opted not to bring in any outside players.

Among the notable players returning to the Rams are running backs Dean Connors and Jordan Waters, safeties Nick Andersen and Tanner Ingle, cornerbacks Cam Lampkin and Nyzier Fourqurean, and seventh-round rookie Tim Keenan III.

Keenan was the only Rams draft pick to be cut over the weekend, but he'll get the chance to keep developing on the practice squad. The Rams also kept international punter Jack Bouwmeester, which allows them to carry 17 players instead of 16 on the practice squad.

Practice squad players are eligible to be elevated to the game-day roster three times each before needing to be signed to the active roster in order to play in games. Each week, two players can be elevated to the game-day roster.

The Rams now have a total of 70 players who can practice and potentially contribute on game days for them, though the roster and practice squad will undoubtedly be shuffled countless times over the next several weeks and months.
