Tutu Atwell is wearing his 3rd different jersey number with the Rams

The Los Angeles Rams brought Tutu Atwell back last week by trading Jarquez Hunter to the Miami Dolphins, reuniting with the former 2021 second-round pick. Atwell left the Rams this offseason to sign with the Dolphins in free agency, but now that he's back, he'll hope to be part of the receiver rotation again.

Upon arriving in Los Angeles, Atwell learned that his old jersey number, 5, was taken by Kamren Kinchens. The number he wore before that, 15, has also been taken by Ty Simpson. So Atwell had to pivot. At practice, Atwell was spotted wearing his third different jersey number as a Ram, switching to No. 8.

Obviously, No. 8 was last worn by Jared Verse, who was traded to the Browns this offseason for Myles Garrett.

Before Atwell returned, linebacker Monty Rice had been wearing No. 8 for the Rams, but he was cut by the team this weekend, so he's no longer in the mix. No. 8 was the last single-digit number available for Los Angeles, because every other number is either taken or retired (No. 7 for Bob Waterfield).

Atwell is one of seven receivers who made the Rams' 53-man roster.
