Action Network says Indianapolis Colts fans are negative, according to subreddit comments

If you discuss the Indianapolis Colts in a subreddit, you may need to wash your mouth out with soap — or, at the very least, your typing fingers.

Action Network analyzed subreddit feeds for all 32 NFL teams, and the Colts came away with second-most foul-mouthed fanbase, and also the most negative.

Almost 15% of comments regarding the Colts — 11,221, to be exact — contained swear words, and not the kind that emphasize how well the team is playing. Only the New York Giants' fanbase is nastier, and they have had reason to be frustrated.

More than a quarter of Colts-related comments (26.3%) carried a negative tone, even more than the New York Jets (they have plenty of reasons to be negative) and Cincinnati Bengals (probably about the defense), who come in second and third.

At least Colts fans are consistent: A similar analysis last year showed Colts fans as the most foul-mouthed on a subreddit, and the third most negative.

The most surprising finding might be related to Arizona Cardinals fans, who are rather foul-mouthed (fourth most) and positive (second). Huh?!

Action Network examined more than 2.5 million comments from subreddits of all 32 teams over the past year. Almost 325,000 contained swear words. The emotional tone of comments was taken into account, and at least 40,000 comments about each team were collected.
