The Philadelphia Eagles have only a couple more practices and their preseason finale against the Cincinnati Bengals left before having to finalize their initial 53-man roster.
The NFL’s roster cutdown deadline is 6 p.m. Sunday. That’s rapidly approaching for general manager Howie Roseman, coach Nick Sirianni and the Eagles’ decision-makers.
With that in mind — and after watching position battles play out all summer — here are 10 Eagles on the roster bubble with the cutdown deadline looming.
C/OG Willie Lampkin: Lampkin has been a star this summer. The 5-foot-11 lineman has stood out in practice. He stood out in both preseason games. Jordan Davis called him a “bowling ball with knives.” He deserves to be on the roster. But the reality is, Lampkin was a 2025 undrafted prospect who hasn’t played in a meaningful NFL game. There’s no guarantee Lampkin makes the 53-man roster, even though he should be on it.
OG Micah Morris: The sixth-round rookie from Georgia has flashed his movement skills getting to the second level this preseason. And his status as a draft pick, with at least some level of recent investment in him, gives him a boost. But Morris’ positional inflexibility, only being able to play guard, could work against him.

If there’s a fullback role for him in this offense (and he can offer special teams value), Steele has a shot. If Sean Mannion isn’t interested in using a fullback, he has an uphill climb.
TE Cameron Latu: It’s a similar situation for Latu, the blocking savant who has been used as a fullback/extra body in the past. We know Latu can play on special teams, and we know rookie tight end Eli Stowers needs time to develop. I had Latu on my latest 53-man roster for those reasons. But Roseman and Co. could go in a different direction.
TE Grant Calcaterra: Has Calcaterra had an impressive summer? No. Can he block? No. Can they get him on the practice squad? Probably. But it’s hard to dismiss the 27-year-old who has spent the last four years on the team with 70 appearances. Many assume that Calcaterra won’t make the roster. But you know what they say about assuming.

Joshua Weru, the Kenyan ex-rugby player, got his first sack in New England and has shown off his unreal bend off the edge. Uar Bernard, who also looked good vs. the Pats, has generated enough headlines to the point where teams know who he is. My gut tells me the Eagles won’t expose either to waivers. But maybe they take that chance on either Bernard or Weru and try to use the extra IPP practice squad slot they’d get.
CB Kelee Ringo: J.T. Gray, the special teams All-Pro, being released helps Ringo’s case to make the roster on his gunner chops alone. But that’s why Ringo would make it. The 2023 fourth-rounder is a liability at cornerback. We saw what happened last summer when Ringo got his chance to push for the CB2 job. There’s no getting around that.

But unfortunately, the seventh-round rookie out of Texas Tech has missed too much time this summer due to injury for defensive coordinator Vic Fangio — an old-school coach who values practice reps — to trust him.
LB Chance Campbell: Speaking of Fangio, he’s a fan of Campbell. And it’s easy to see why. You could argue Campbell, who spent last season on the practice squad, has played better this summer than Smael Mondon Jr., the 2025 fifth-round pick. But unless the Eagles deal Mondon, keeping five linebackers (Zack Baun, Jihaad Campbell, Jeremiah Trotter Jr., Mondon, Campbell) might be difficult given the state of the rest of the roster.
WR Elijah Moore: Moore has had a better summer than most expected, making plays and building a rapport with Jalen Hurts while DeVonta Smith and Makai Lemon nursed injuries. But Smith, Lemon, Dontayvion Wicks and Darius Cooper are roster locks. Hollywood Brown, with his $5 million guaranteed contract, should make it unless he’s traded. Whether the Eagles keep five or six receivers will determine Moore’s fate.
