Titus Huard, a four-star quarterback from Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, is actively exploring his college options as he prepares for the next step in his football career. Recently, he made a notable visit to Stanford University, where he attended the Cardinal's season opener against Hawaii, marking the debut of new head coach Tavita Pritchard.
Huard expressed enthusiasm about his experience at Stanford, stating, "The Stanford visit was awesome. I really enjoyed talking to all the coaches and it was fun to see a game." The visit allowed him to gain insight into the program and the academic opportunities that Stanford offers its student-athletes.
During his time on campus, Huard was impressed by the university's beautiful surroundings and the academic prestige that accompanies attending Stanford. He remarked, "Obviously the campus was beautiful and the opportunities that Stanford gives you as far as your future after football are second to none." This emphasis on education alongside athletics is a significant factor for many recruits, and Huard seemed to appreciate Stanford's commitment to both.
In addition to enjoying the game, Huard had the chance to engage in meaningful conversations with Coach Pritchard and Stanford's general manager, Andrew Luck, a former NFL quarterback. He noted, "I had some really good talks with both coach Tavita and Andrew Luck. They run a great system and I feel like I would be a good fit in the offense. I can’t wait to see how the rest of the season pans out for them." Such discussions are crucial for recruits as they evaluate how they might fit into a program’s future plans.
Huard also took the opportunity to interact with current Stanford players, which further enriched his visit. He commented, "I also got to talk with a lot of the players and thought the overall morale and buy-in with the players is at a really good spot." This aspect of team culture can significantly influence a recruit's decision, as it reflects the environment they would be joining.
Looking ahead, Huard has already scheduled visits to other colleges, including Kansas State on September 12 for their game against Washington State, and Oregon on October 31 for a matchup against Northwestern. Additionally, he has a visit to UCLA planned, with the date yet to be determined. He is also considering potential visits to Arizona State, Arkansas, and Purdue as the season progresses.
As Huard continues to evaluate his options, he remains focused on how the fall season unfolds for various programs. He stated, "I’m just waiting to see how the fall pans out." With multiple visits lined up, Huard is poised to make an informed decision about his future in collegiate football.
