While LeBron James joining the Philadelphia 76ers was considered a possibility, it only elevated the hype for the players on the roster. As one of the youngest players on the team, Adem Bona grew up watching basketball with James as one of the NBA's biggest stars.
Bona was born a few months before James got drafted first overall in 2003, so his entire life has involved James being an NBA superstar. Now, he gets to realize a lot of people's dream, and that is playing alongside one of the greatest of all time in Philly.
LeBron James had everyone on the 76ers excited, including Adem BonaIn the NBA, there is no bigger name than LeBron James over the past decade or so. Stephen Curry might have an argument for that, but most of the time, LeBron has been the pinnacle of the NBA. He is the face of the league, and he has been for the longest time.
It should not come as a surprise that the majority of younger players in the league grew up watching LeBron play in the NBA. Now that he has moved on from the Los Angeles Lakers, he is now playing alongside newer players who are getting their experience of playing alongside the King.

As one of the younger players on the 76ers roster, Bona has shown excitement about playing alongside Bron. Thankfully for Bona, he is not in any trouble of getting cut from the roster, so he will be an important teammate with James. In fact, they might combine for alley-oops from time to time, which is good for Bona, who is excited to play alongside the four-time Finals MVP.
"I was in Nigeria when it happened, and a friend called me on a direct call... He was like 'Yo, Sixers just got Bron.' I just started screaming at the top of my voice in the car. We just started jumping in the car, and the car started like moving, bouncing literally," Bona said about his reaction to teaming up with Bron on the Sixers.
Moving forward, the 76ers are a contender ahead of the 2026-27 season. Adding James and Brown is a big reason, but it also shows that there are even more players beyond the stars, as names like Bona are crucial for the 76ers.
