Hjalte Froholdt played his way into a new two-year extension with the Cardinals that secures one of the league’s best centers will stay in Arizona while the team trudges through an inevitable quarterback transition period.
Veteran Jacoby Brissett is squared away as the team’s starter to begin 2026, but rookie Carson Beck isn’t going anywhere if he continues to play the way he did to begin the preseason. Brissett’s leash will be fairly short, especially if he can’t continue last year’s momentum through the opening month of the season.
Regardless of who will be receiving his snaps, Froholdt has shown his availability may be his best trait after playing at least 1,070 snaps in each of the past three campaigns. Per PFF, 2025 was Froholdt’s best as a pass blocker with a career-high 72.0 grade in that area while also allowing just one sack (a career-low). In 2024, Froholdt had a career-best overall season grade (76.1) and run block grade (78.1).
Whether it’s Brissett or Beck throughout the upcoming season, it looks like either will be in good hands.
