The Chicago Bears have made their first roster cut ahead of tonight's 5 p.m. CT deadline, parting ways with former fifth-round cornerback Terell Smith, according to Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs.
Smith has been a dependable reserve in the secondary since he was drafted in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Unfortunately, he suffered a brutal knee injury last preseason that ended his season before it even began and set him back this summer. Even a strong performance in the preseason finale against the Tennessee Titans wasn't enough to warn a roster spot.
