A trip to Dublin, Ireland, was all it took to get Bill Belichick's second season as North Carolina coach off to a great start.

The Tar Heels faced TCU on Saturday and came in as an underdog. That didn't matter as they thwarted the Horned Frogs, 15-10.

Belichick was 4-8 in his first season in Chapel Hill, causing a ton of criticism and people scoffing at his decision to take on a college job.

In the 2026 season opener, Billy Edwards threw for 232 yards in the victory. The win was sealed when TCU jumped offsides late in the game.

A year ago, the Horned Frogs came into Chapel Hill and ruined Belichick's debut, 48-14.
