Bishop McCort Catholic freshman wrestler Sanchir Edington earned his second Real American Freestyle Next Gen championship in Cleveland, Ohio, this past weekend.
Edington defeated one of Ohio's top wrestlers, Constantinos Paxos. Edington won 1-0 and is the points leader at his weight.
Edington competed in the 15-Under division at 120 pounds July 18-19 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Edington topped California's Brixton Archuletta, a Tulsa Nationals champion, 7-2 in the final.
There will be a total of five RAF Next Gen events and the top two points earners at each weight will be invited to and highlighted in a final championship match in December that will be broadcast live on FoxNation.
Real American Freestyle was started by WWE superstar Hulk Hogan, wrestling coach Israel Martinez and promoter Chad Bronstein. Bishop McCort graduate and Virginia Tech freshman Bo Bassett is 3-0 on the circuit.
