Yankuba Minteh, a promising winger currently with Brighton & Hove Albion, remains a target for Liverpool despite the club's recent attempts to secure his services being turned down. Brighton's manager, Fabian Hurzeler, expressed confidence that Minteh could still realize his aspirations of joining a top club in the future, especially if he continues to perform well.

During the recent transfer window, Liverpool made two significant bids for the 22-year-old Gambian international, with offers of £50 million and £60 million both rejected by Brighton. The Seagulls reportedly value Minteh at closer to £70 million, reflecting the player's potential and importance to the team. Hurzeler noted that Liverpool's manager, Andoni Iraola, was keen to enhance his attacking options, which further fueled interest in the talented winger.

Minteh joined Brighton from Newcastle United in 2024 for £30 million and has since made a notable impact on the pitch, contributing 10 goals and nine assists in 73 appearances for the Seagulls. His ability to play primarily on the right flank has made him a valuable asset for the team, and Hurzeler believes that if the entire squad performs well, individual players like Minteh will naturally attract attention from larger clubs.

"If the whole team is successful and the individual shines, then Yankuba will get a lot of attention again, and he can then maybe fulfill his dream in the next transfer window," Hurzeler stated ahead of Brighton's Premier League match against Leeds. This statement underscores the manager's faith in Minteh's abilities and potential future opportunities.

Despite the failed move to Liverpool, Hurzeler emphasized Minteh's commitment to Brighton, stating, "He wears the Brighton colours, he wears the Brighton badge. He has been with us for two years now as part of the squad. He has achieved great things together with the boys." This commitment is crucial as the club aims to build on its recent successes in the Premier League.

Brighton has also been active in the transfer market, generating significant funds through player sales, including Carlos Baleba's £70 million transfer to Manchester United. With these funds, the club secured the signing of Spanish midfielder Chema Andres from Stuttgart for £15.5 million. Andres, who made 41 appearances for Stuttgart last season, has been touted as a player with great potential, drawing comparisons to Manchester City's Rodri due to his playing style and ambition.

Hurzeler expressed excitement about Andres's arrival, noting his motivation to improve and contribute to the team's success. The manager remarked, "He has this motivation of wanting to improve every day. He comes on the first day and wants to go outside on the pitch, he wants to have ball touches and you can really feel that he is very ambitious." As Brighton continues to develop its squad, the focus will be on how players like Minteh and Andres can help the team achieve its goals in the upcoming season.
