Central beats Palisade boys soccer

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) - Central downs Palisade in a conference matchup. The Warriors defeated the Bulldogs 3-0.

This one stayed scoreless to start. Cal Diedrich broke the tie. Off a corner, a ball bounced around in the box and Diedrich smashed it home.

A few minutes later, he outraced the Palisade defense to net his second of the evening.

"After the second one, I felt pretty good," Diedrich said. "I kind of told my mom I was going to score, which I most excited about actually. I was surprised I scored again because it was in two minutes I had a really great ball pass to me from over there. It was amazing, right to me and perfect."

Late in the game the Bulldogs struck again. Yiovanni Galindo let a shot fly that deflected off a defender into the net.

Palisade falls to 0-3. They take on Coal Ridge on Tuesday. Central improves to 2-1 and takes on Caprock on Tuesday.
