Welcome to another season of high school top performers for the Petoskey-area.
Covering all of the high schools throughout Emmet and Charlevoix county, here are the top performances sent in over the last week of the high school sports season, which also happened to be the first week of the 2026 fall high school sports season.
The amount of athletes per team and per sport may change from week to week, depending on performances, and some performances may be highlighted more than others.

BOYS SOCCERCHARLEVLOX
Josh Montalvo Lundy — The season opener for Charlevoix came with a 6-1 victory against Benzie Central, with Montalvo Lundy scoring two goals for the Rayders.
Jeremiah Meyer — Meyer came through with a goal and an assist in the victory over Benzie.
Sam Porath — Porath notched two assists for the Rayders in the opener, his first game as Charlevoix soccer player.
Owen Boss — The freshman Boss recorded a goal in his first game as a Rayder.
Collin Mullaney — Mullaney scored a goal on a rebounding, following a shot from Porath.
HARBOR SPRINGS
Giovanni Neispolo — Neispolo, a freshman for the Rams, helped Harbor earn a 2-1 win over Kingsley by scoring two goals against the Stags. The win came despite the Rams having two senior captains and their goalkeeper sidelined on the night.
PETOSKEY
Colin O’Donnell — O'Donnell helped the Northmen secure their first Big North Conference victory of the year in a 2-1 win over Gaylord on the road. He came through with the game-winner on a penalty kick late in the contest.
Conner Duch — Duch notched the first score of the night for the Northmen against Gaylord in a 1-1 game.
Jace Stradling — Stadling came through with a huge performance against the Blue Devils, saving multiple shots to help bring in the win in net.
VOLLEYBALLPETOSKEY
Jane Horsburgh — Petoskey took on more tough competition at a Cedar Springs mini invite, where they fell to Hamilton, North Point Christian and Grand Rapids Catholic Central, then defeated Cedar Springs. The young Horsburgh impressed with 15 kills, six aces, 28 digs and three blocks.
Courtney Howard — Howard led in setting up the offense in Cedar Springs, finishing with 36 assists, to go with 13 digs and two aces.
Claire Pike — Pike’s day in Cedar Springs finished with 13 kills, 21 digs and a pair of aces.
Liza Luckhardt — Another freshman in the lineup, Luckhardt had 15 kills on an efficient hitting day, to go with eight combined blocks.
Gia Wemigwase — Wemigwase did a bit of everything for the Northmen in Cedar Springs, recording seven kills, five aces, fur digs and five total blocks.
BOYNE CITY
Addy Burns —In an Ogemaw Heights quad, Burns led the way with 11 kills, as the Ramblers fell to Roscommon (11-25, 9-25), fell to Ogemaw (11-25, 21-25) then topped Au Gres (25-11, 25-20).
Eeva Rintala — Rintala came out swinging in the quad and finished with a .363 hitting percentage.
Lily Payton — Payton finished the quad with 25 assists for Boyne.
Ava Hissong — Hissong finished with five aces in West Branch.
Elle Wilson — The senior libero closed the day with 16 digs in West Branch.
HARBOR LIGHT
Alayna Swadling — The sophomore setter for the Swordsmen helped Harbor Light defeat Harbor Springs this week in four sets (25-23, 21-25, 25-13, 25-23). She had 31 assists, six aces and eight digs.
Maryah Burns — Burns had 16 kills and 26 digs, standing out defensively as an outside hitter, in a four-set win over Harbor Springs.
Makenna Vandock — Vandock recored nine kills, four aces and 10 digs in the victory over Harbor.
Lilly Cope — The junior libero for the Swordsmen notched 15 digs and two aces against Harbor Springs.
MACKINAW CITY
Rian Esper — The Comets split in a tri this week, falling to Cedarville (24-26, 9-25) then defeated Maplewood (25-15, 25-13). Esper led with 17 digs, six kills, seven assists and five aces.
Poppy Wallace — Wallace recorded eight kills, two blocks and four digs in the tri split.
Julia Short — Short recorded 13 digs, eight kills, five assists and an ace against Maplewood and Cedarville.
Alaia Mendez — Seven kills, 11 digs and an ace came for Mendez in the tri against the UP teams.
CHARLEVOIX
Ayla Kemp — When Charlevoix opened the season over the weekend in Pellston, the Rayders made it to the semifinals before falling to Bellaire. Kemp finished the day with 77 digs and six aces.
Jaslyn Blanton — Blanton was back to being her strong self on the court in Pellston, recording 36 kills, 22 assists, 27 digs and nine aces.
Sophie Glotzhober — Glotzhober showed she’s ready for more time on the court in Pellston with 35 assists, 24 digs and three aces in the openers.
Ella Boss — Boss impressed in Pellston with 19 kills, nine aces and 20 digs.
Megan Porath — Porath had a strong set of openers, especially at the net, where she recored 15 kills and seven blocks, to go with her three aces.
GIRLS GOLFPETOSKEY
Anna Hasse — The senior Northmen golfer recorded a round of 79 to finish as the medalist of the Grayling Invite recently.
HARBOR SPRINGS
Stellie Metiva — Metiva, a senior for the Rams, shot a round of 95 to led the Rams and place 11th overall in Grayling.
CROSS COUNTRYPETOSKEY 2-MILE
Elizabeth Daniel — Petoskey opened the season in its Tuesday Taco 2-Mile race, in which a few smaller programs also took part in. Daniel, a junior, finished second in the girls race in 14:07.05.
Lillian Lamarche — Lamarche was third in the two-mile event in Petoskey, running 14:24.27.
Reeve Oberman — Oberman placed first on the boys side of the Taco 2-Mile, running 10:30.72.
Jack Frentz — A second place finish came for Frentz in the opener, running 10:33.32.
CHARLEVOIX 2-MILE
Hunter Eaton, Charlevoix — Eaton and the Rayders hosted the Ryan Shay 2-Mile race to begin the season, with both Rayder teams coming away with wins. Eaton earned the win on the boys side with a time of 9:59.49.
Ryder Hopkins, Charlevoix — Hopkins recorded a second place finish overall in 10:32.27.
Grady Hanes, St. Michael — Hanes ran in his first high school meet and recorded a fifth place finish in 11:06.17.
Finn Parish, Boyne City — Parish led for the Ramblers cross country boys in a sixth place 11:07.08.
Hannah Muladore, Charlevoix — Muladore, only a freshman, wasted no time impressing, finishing first in the two-mile event in Charlevoix in 12:57.34.
Veronica Paga, St. Michael — Paga was second overall and led for St. Michael in 13:08.92.
Mea Wesley, St. Michael — Wesley recorded a third place overall finish and was second for St. Michael in 13:36.99.
Hailee Bertels, Boyne City — Bertels started her junior campaign by leading for the Ramblers in Charlevoix with a fourth place 13:55.22.
Avary Bearden, East Jordan — Bearden topped the list for EJ runners in Charlevoix with a fifth place time of 14:02.08.
