Clement hails Norwich City star’s return in Carabao Cup victory

Philippe Clement hailed Ante Crnac’s match-winning return for Norwich City after 10 months out with injury.

Crnac marked his competitive comeback with the decisive goal in the 2-1 League Cup victory over Cardiff City.

The 22-year-old had been sidelined since October 2025 after suffering an ACL injury.

The Norwich boss revealed his team-mates applauded Crnac in the dressing room after the final whistle.

“I said a few words in the dressing room after the game and the players all applauded him,” Clement told the Pink’Un.

“Everybody has lived his journey with him during all these months, and that’s the same with Ali (Ahmed) now, for example, or Mirko (Topic) who is in the last phase of his ACL.

“It’s super important, of course, for a player who’s been that long out that he can score the decisive goal of this game, and that it gives him confidence for where he’s now for the moment.

“We still need to work hard with him to get him to his best level again. But this will give him a lot of confidence.

“It’s amazing, and it’s a really hard trip to come back with that injury. It’s never a journey that’s always going up and every week better.”
