Rui Hachimura is flourishing at the FIBA level for his country Japan, giving great signs to the Los Angeles Clippers ahead of next season.
Hachimura is preparing for the eighth season of his NBA career, his first with the Clippers. After spending four seasons with the Lakers, he officially signed with the Clippers to a two-year, $28 million deal in July, looking to have the best campaign of his career to date.
Hachimura is embracing a new chapter of his career, wanting the best momentum going into next season. Representing Japan in the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, the standout forward showed out with an incredible display against Saudi Arabia. He finished with 29 points and two steals on 11-of-14 shooting from the field, including three makes from beyond the arc.

What lies ahead for Rui Hachimura, Clippers next seasonRui Hachimura is on a mission to have a statement campaign with the Clippers. Regardless of what happens to the team this offseason, Hachimura has his goals in mind.
Hachimura had solid form in his last season with the Lakers. He averaged 11.5 points and 3.3 rebounds per game throughout 68 appearances. He had shooting splits of 51.4% from the field, including 44.3% from downtown, and 69.4% from the free-throw line. In the playoffs, he produced 17.5 points, four rebounds and 1.7 assists per contest. His shooting accuracy rose to 54.9% overall, including 56.9% from deep, and 72.7% from the charity stripe.
The Clippers are coming off a disappointing campaign in which they missed the playoffs. They finished with a 42-40 record, taking ninth place in the Western Conference standings. They lost to the Golden State Warriors in the play-in tournament, suffering elimination.
Los Angeles looks to be embracing a new era, trying to complete the trade with the Toronto Raptors involving Kawhi Leonard when the league’s investigation concludes.
