Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones has reported significant progress in his recovery from a torn Achilles tendon, indicating he is ready for the team's upcoming season opener. The Colts are set to face the Baltimore Ravens on September 13, and Jones has expressed confidence in his health ahead of the critical matchup.

During a recent press conference, Jones stated, "Yeah, I’m 100%." This positive update comes as he prepares to return to competitive play for the first time since his injury. He acknowledged that while he has completed all necessary rehabilitation phases, the ultimate test will come when he steps onto the field for a full-speed game.

Jones elaborated on his recovery process, saying, "Completed each phase of the process. Last part is playing in a game, full-speed contact game. But I feel like I’ve simulated all of that stuff with the exception of the hits." This statement reflects his readiness to transition from practice to a live game environment, which is crucial for any athlete returning from a significant injury.

The injury occurred during a challenging 2025 season for the Colts, specifically in a Week 14 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Prior to his injury, Jones had achieved career-best statistics, completing 68% of his passes for 3,101 yards, along with 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions. His performance that season had positioned him as a key player for the Colts, making his recovery all the more significant for the team's prospects in the upcoming season.

Throughout the offseason, Jones's rehabilitation has been closely monitored. He resumed throwing in the spring and progressed to participating in 7-on-7 drills during organized team activities (OTAs). By the time training camp rolled around, he had received full medical clearance to participate in team activities. His teammate, Josh Downs, noted in July that Jones appeared remarkably comfortable during throwing sessions, to the point where he briefly forgot about his injury.

Despite his readiness, Jones did not take any snaps during the Colts' three preseason games. This means that the regular-season opener will serve as his first opportunity to experience live contact since his injury, which adds an extra layer of anticipation for both him and the team. As the Colts prepare for their matchup against the Ravens, the health and performance of Jones will be pivotal in determining the team's success this season.
