Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts was notably dejected after a tough loss to the Detroit Tigers, in which the offense found similar ways to disappoint.
The Dodgers went 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position on Saturday, leaving six men on base.
There was a moment that felt all too familiar when the Dodgers worked the bases loaded in the sixth inning, with just one out on the board and the game tied at one apiece.
LA looked ready to pile on some runs and really open the game up, but instead, the offense once again failed to deliver with a runner in scoring position.

Recently, it has failed to turn traffic on the basepaths into runs, getting some hits and walks but nothing on the scoreboard.
After now weeks of mostly struggles with a team that has high expectations, Roberts admits that frustration is building.
“We’re all frustrated. We know we should be better,” Roberts said. “But again, now it’s more of, ‘What are we gonna do about it?’ So that’s kind of where my head is at.”
As for a solution, the long-time skipper had no answers.
“I don’t know what’s missing,” Roberts said. “I know the work is there. I know the will is there. I know the talent is there. But yeah, we just haven’t put it together in quite some time consistently … I gotta think about what I can do to spur this offense.”
