HANCOCK, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - One of the best wrestlers in Section IV will no longer be competing in our area, as he will be heading to Section 2 for his senior season.
Landyn Shaffer, who this past season took home a state championship in Division II at 138 pounds for Deposit/Hancock over Tioga's Jayden Duncanson, will now head east to Section 2 to compete for Cobleskill-Richmondville. The Binghamton commit will now be teaming up with his Gorilla Grapplers club teammate Ashten Haley, who is also committed to be a Bearcat.
Flowrestling has Shaffer's overall record at 232-45, going 69-8 this past season.
He has become one to watch not just in the state, but in the country over the past seasons.
