Among them is Antijuan Wilkes, recognized as Rivals’ No. 1 offensive tackle. Wilkes, who stands at 6 feet 6 inches and weighs 265 pounds, is excited about his first visit to the Tigers' campus.
When asked about his expectations for the visit, Wilkes expressed his eagerness to experience the game-day atmosphere in Louisiana. He stated, "The atmosphere is what I’m looking forward to. I just want to see how it feels to be in Louisiana. Really just how their coaches are in their first game. I want to see how they coach. I want to see Coach Wolf (offensive line coach Eric Wolford) coach." This visit marks an important step for Wilkes as he evaluates potential colleges.
Also making the trip is Wilkes' teammate, Mylan Griggs, a talented wide receiver who has emerged as a key player for Detroit Cass Tech this season. Griggs, who stands 6 feet 1 inch and weighs 180 pounds, has been making waves after stepping into the spotlight following the departure of last year’s standout, C.J. Sadler, who signed with North Carolina. With interest from numerous schools including Michigan, Nebraska, and Michigan State, Griggs is looking forward to his LSU visit. He remarked, "LSU hit me up, and were really excited about getting me down there. So I’m about to go down there and check them out, see what’s going on."
Another standout recruit, Tyler Trusel from Brother Rice, is also part of the Detroit contingent. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound athlete has been impressive in his performances this season, with schools eyeing him for both safety and wide receiver positions. LSU has expressed interest in Trusel as a wide receiver, which aligns with his aspirations. He noted, "I like that LSU is WRU (Wide Receiver U). I’m excited to get out there to Death Valley and see what Lane Kiffin does. I watch guys like Jayce Brown. He’s a smooth gadget wide receiver, so trying to take pieces of his game and adding it to mine is kind of cool."
Completing the group is DeAndre Bidden, a four-star wide receiver/athlete from Harper Woods known for his explosive speed. Bidden's presence adds further depth to the talented Detroit recruits visiting LSU for the opener against Clemson.
