College football is almost here, and Week 0 will take place this weekend. All of that means it’s time for Dr Pepper to release its new Fansville commercials for the new football season.
Dr Pepper gave us a sneak peek of season 9 of Fansville, which features new LSU coach Lane Kiffin. He is pulled over by Sheriff Boz, former Oklahoma great Brian Bosworth.
Kiffin, who is holding a Dr Pepper in his hand, asks the sheriff why he’s being pulled over.
“For making an illegal Lane…..change,” Sheriff Boz responded. Before he could finish his statement, Kiffin is seen rolling up his window to ignore the sheriff.

Taking aim for moving schools?It’s a lighthearted joke, and one Kiffin clearly agreed to take part in, but you have to wonder if it’s strictly about Kiffin leaving schools — again. Kiffin enters Year 1 with LSU, and it’s his fifth college program as the head coach.
He made news last season after leading Ole Miss to the College Football Playoff, but accepting the Tigers’ head coaching position. Kiffin wouldn’t coach LSU in the CFP, and instead, defensive coordinator Pete Golding assumed duties and ultimately was hired as the program’s new head coach.
Kiffin won 11, 10, and 11 games, respectively, in his final three seasons with the Rebels.

While that’s total chaos, Kiffin’s LSU Tigers have taken it a step further. His program has landed commitments from two players who were on an NFL roster — both being former Ole Miss players.
But as of now, we don’t know if they will play or not. Both the Big Ten and SEC have made statements and plan on enforcing stiff penalties for any team that plays a former NFL player who signed a contract or made a preseason roster.
However, don’t expect this to be the last time Kiffin is in the news — it might just be getting started.
