The Philadelphia Eagles will play their final preseason game of 2026 against the Bengals on Friday night at home in Lincoln Financial Field.
Several players are looking to put up performances impressive enough tonight to land one of the final roster spots. Teams have until 6pm ET on Sunday, August 30 to get their final roster down to 53 players and then start filling their practice squads.
There’s a bit of an art to roster management, and while someone like Joshua Weru — who had never played football before, but has shown potential in the preseason — isn’t going to play right away, he’s also not someone the Eagles can risk losing on the waiver wire. This is where Howie Roseman has been exceptional, in terms of his plans to keep those at risk, waiting until other rosters are filled, and then making moves. It was a similar play last year for WR Darius Cooper, who was an attractive option for other teams, but showed the Eagles enough to hold on to him — and this year, he’s essentially a lock to be among the receiver rotation this season.
Even for some of the depth players who are likely to make the roster, this final preseason game is another opportunity for reps and experience that they might not always get during the week at practice. This is a great chance for them to prepare for their role and feel confident if they’re ever needed to step up.
Here’s everything you need to know about how to watch the game.
