On Tuesday, the Eau Claire Memorial girls golf team traveled to Hallie Golf Course in Chippewa Falls for the Big Rivers Conference meet, where they delivered a commendable performance, finishing in second place overall. The team recorded a total score of 169, placing them nine strokes behind the champions, Hudson, who took home the top spot.
Leading the charge for the Old Abes were junior Stella Brennan, senior Breleigh Schultz, and freshman Stella Resnick. All three players showcased their skills on the course, finishing with identical scores of 42, which earned them a tie for sixth place in the individual standings. Their collective effort was crucial in securing the team’s strong finish.
Hudson’s Ava Swavely emerged as the standout player of the day, clinching the individual title with an impressive score of 37. Her performance not only contributed to Hudson's victory but also highlighted the competitive nature of the meet.
In addition to Memorial and Hudson, River Falls claimed third place with a team score of 172. Elsie Schmid led the Wildcats, finishing with a score of 38, which placed her in a tie for second alongside Hudson’s Lydia Duffey and New Richmond’s Samantha Halle, both of whom also scored 38.
The remaining teams in the competition included Rice Lake, which finished fourth with a score of 182, and New Richmond, which took fifth with a total of 185. Eau Claire North placed sixth with a score of 190, followed by Chippewa Falls in seventh with 202, and Menomonie in eighth with 204. Notably, Eau Claire North's Brooklyn Krall was the top performer for her team, finishing fifth overall with a score of 40.
This meet not only showcased the skill level of the participating teams but also served as a vital part of the season for the golfers as they prepare for upcoming competitions. The Big Rivers Conference is known for its competitive spirit, and this event was no exception, with several players demonstrating their potential as they vie for individual and team accolades throughout the season.

The Loyal/Greenwood Invitational featured strong performances from various teams, while Fall Creek's volleyball team excelled in their quad meet, finishing with a perfect record of 3-0.
