Elite 2028 WR Brysen Wright lands signature cleat with Battle Brand

Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin Five Star-Plus wide receiver Brysen Wright, who is the No. 1 ranked player in the Class of 2028, has officially been given his own signature cleat. Battle Sports unveiled Wright’s BFYE 1 AstroFly on Wednesday, making him the brand’s first player to get their own signature cleat.

Battle Sports released the signature cleat five days ago on Aug. 21, which was Wright’s 16th birthday birthday. The cleats are available on the Battle Brand website for $169.99. Only 600 pairs were created. Once they sell out on the website, they will no longer be available for purchase.

Wright is currently juggling offers from a plethora of the sport’s juggernauts, including Miami, Florida, Ohio State, Georgia, Texas, Alabama, and Notre Dame. He is currently a junior at Mandarin. Wright compiled 81 total yards, one touchdown, three tackles, one tackle for loss, one pass breakup and one interception in his team’s 38-21 win over McArthur (Hollywood, Fla.) Friday night.

Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin head coach Toby Bullock called Wright ‘the best player he has ever coached’ in an interview with CaneSport‘s EJ Holland.

“He’s the No. 1 player in the country,” Bullock said, via Holland. “(Wright) is the best player I’ve ever seen. He’s the best player I’ve ever coached. Off the field, he’s very quiet. Once you get to know him, he enjoys conversation. He has a close circle that he’s very close to. If you can get in that inner circle, you see a kid that can light up the room.

“You look at his size and athletic ability, and you think it’s just that. It’s not. He wants to compete against everybody. Everything is a competition for him. He doesn’t want to come off the field ever. It’s incredible. We’re actually trying to teach him that sometimes he can come off the field.”

Holland discussed Wright’s playmaking ability more in depth following Mandarin‘s game against McArthur. Wright is seen as, by far, the best player in his Class to this point.

“Wright could even play safety at a high level. A lot of folks have undervalued him as an athlete,” Holland wrote. “Wright’s playmaking ability on defense and special teams shows he’s more than just a big body or a 7v7 star. Wright is a great football player. He also has a basketball background and uses that to his advantage at his natural wide receiver position.

“Some have also questioned Wright’s speed. While I can’t find recent verified times, Wright looked fast enough last night. Simply put, Wright checks all the boxes and is ready made to make an immediate impact wherever he ends up.”
