Every player in Philadelphia 76ers history who has worn the No. 45

It’s summer in the NBA, so it’s time to learn history. The Philadelphia 76ers are one of the older franchises in the NBA. Their history dates to the 1949-50 season.

Given that longevity, the team has had hundreds of players come through the City of Brotherly Love. Sixers Wire looks at the uniform No. 45, which has been worn by nine of those players.

With that being said, here is a look at all nine players who wore the No. 45 uniform in Sixers history:

Rule played parts of the 1971-72 season as well as the 1972-73 season with the Sixers and he averaged 16.4 points and 7.6 rebounds across 63 games in Philadelphia.

Johnson played in 245 games with 16 starts as a member of the Sixers across four seasons. He averaged 4.9 points and 4.4 rebounds during that time in Philadelphia.

Thornton played across three seasons with the Sixers. He wore No. 45 in 1988 for them before switching his number over to No. 23. He averaged 2.6 points and 2.1 rebounds with the Sixers.

Ansley played in a grand total of eight games for the Sixers and he averaged 1.9 points and 0.5 rebounds in those games. He was waived by Philadelphia in January of 1992.

Leckner played in 71 games for the Sixers with 36 starts and he averaged 5.1 points and 4.0 rebounds in Philadelphia.

Caldwell played in 27 games for Philadelphia in the 1996-97 season after starting the season with the then-New Jersey Nets. He averaged 2.7 points and 4.1 rebounds as a member of the Sixers.

Hunter played two seasons and he averaged 6.3 points and 4.4 rebounds in 139 games. He started 76 of those games as he played next to Allen Iverson and Chris Webber in those games as one of the defensive enforcers on their roster.

Roddy only played three games for the Sixers in the 2024-25 season and he averaged 6.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in those games.

An undrafted rookie, Sallis played seven games for the Sixers in the 2025-26 season averaging 1.0 points and 0.6 assists. He was waived in December and is looking for his next opportunity.
