A former LSU women's basketball forward decided on her next school: Amiya Joyner committed to Louisville out of the transfer portal, according to On3's Talia Goodman on Tuesday. Joyner gained an extra season of eligibility thanks to a temporary release issued in a Louisiana court.
Joyner played three seasons at East Carolina before transferring to LSU ahead of the 2025-26 season. She improved year over year with the Pirates, averaging 15 points and 9.2 rebounds per game as a junior.
As a senior, Joyner battled alongside fellow transfer Kate Koval for starting minutes with the Tigers last season. She started 19 of the 34 games she appeared in, shooting an efficient 59.7% from the field. The six-foot-two forward averaged 9.2 points and 7.5 rebounds during her lone season in Baton Rouge.

Joyner could've returned to LSU but elected to try her hand in the Big 12 with the Cardinals. Head coach Kim Mulkey is already down a big one, as Koval announced her decision to leave the team.
