Former Jaguars draft pick signs with AFC South rival

A former Trent Baalke draft pick is reportedly signing with the Houston Texans.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, edge rusher Derek Parish reached an agreement with the Texans on Tuesday. Parish was a seventh-round pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2023 NFL draft.

Parish spent a portion of the 2023 season on the Jaguars' practice squad but never appeared in a game.

Parish played fullback and edge rusher in college at Houston. With the Jaguars, he was listed as a tight end.

Most recently, Parish appeared in 10 games with the UFL's DC Defenders. He recorded 23 tackles, including 4.0 for a loss, with three sacks.

Parish has also spent time in the CFL with the Toronto Argonauts.
