Frances Tiafoe advanced to the fourth round of the 2026 US Open on Friday night, captivating fans not only with his performance on the court but also through the presence of his girlfriend, Ayan Broomfield, in the stands at Louis Armstrong Stadium. Broomfield has become a notable figure at the tournament, turning heads with her fashionable attire and her commitment to promoting inclusivity in tennis.

Broomfield attended a Cadillac-hosted event linked to her nonprofit organization, Ayan's Aces, and shared photos of her striking outfit on social media. She donned a black, red, and white varsity-style sweater dress designed by Thom Browne, complemented by knee-high socks and red sneakers. This ensemble not only highlighted her preppy style but also reflected a patriotic theme, aligning with the colors of the American flag, which has become a hallmark of her tournament wardrobe.

In her social media post, Broomfield expressed gratitude to Cadillac for hosting the event and tagged Thom Browne, acknowledging the designer for her outfit. The response from fans and fellow influencers was overwhelmingly positive, with comments celebrating her fashion sense. One admirer remarked, "Court FULL of baddies," while others expressed their admiration with star-struck emojis.

A Toronto native and former UCLA doubles player, Broomfield has made a name for herself in the fashion world at tennis events. Over the years, she has sported designs from various notable brands, including Cult Gaia and LaQuan Smith. In an interview with Who What Wear prior to the US Open, she mentioned her desire to embrace boldness in her wardrobe choices for the tournament, a goal she certainly achieved with her latest outfit.

Beyond her fashion contributions, Broomfield's nonprofit, Ayan's Aces, aims to increase the representation of Black women in tennis. During the 2026 US Open, she hosted two significant events, the first in partnership with Grey Goose, which focused on 20 Black women influencers, followed by the Cadillac event that brought together 30 athletes and influencers of color. This initiative began after Broomfield's viral TikTok in January 2025, which highlighted the lack of Black women in attendance at the Australian Open. Since then, Ayan's Aces has successfully brought nearly 500 Black women to major tennis tournaments, including the D.C. Open and the Toronto Open, and has expanded to other sports like Formula 1 and golf.

Frances Tiafoe has often credited Broomfield’s support as a stabilizing force in his career, which includes two semifinal appearances at the US Open in 2022 and 2024. The couple, who began dating in 2015 and went public with their relationship in 2018, share a strong bond that has played a significant role in Tiafoe's journey as a professional athlete.

Looking ahead, Tiafoe is set to face Daniil Medvedev in the fourth round of the US Open on Sunday. Medvedev currently holds a 6-1 advantage in their head-to-head matchups, adding an extra layer of challenge for Tiafoe as he aims to advance further in the prestigious tournament.
