Odell Beckham Jr. used to be a lock for a roster spot, but times have changed, with the former LSU Tigers star wide receiver’s outlook with the New York Giants uncertain heading into the final 53-man roster cuts.
The cuts will happen on Sunday, and many Giants fans hope Beckham makes it.
So far, Beckham has appeared in two preseason games for New York, garnering four catches for 23 receiving yards against the Minnesota Vikings and the Miami Dolphins combined.
He has also been flashing some of his vintage form in practice, reminding the team and New York fans of the form that made him one of the most electrifying football talents over the past decade.
New York is not giving an exact read on its plan regarding Beckham’s chances of making the roster, but head coach John Harbaugh had great words to say about the three-time Pro Bowler wide receiver on Wednesday.

“I think Odell’s had a good camp,” Harbaugh said of the former Offensive Rookie of the Year Award winner (via Jordan Raanan of ESPN).
“I would say his best week of camp has come this week. He’s looked good and made numerous plays, just like you saw. Even [Wednesday, he] made numerous plays. So, he’s doing that.”
If anything, New York general manager Joel Schoen shared a positive take on Beckham earlier on Wednesday during an appearance on WFAN Sports Radio (h/t Raanan).
“I think the kid can still play,” Schoen said.
“He’s going to play on Friday, and we’re going to continue to evaluate those guys. But he has shown enough that he can still play.”
Beckham did not play in 2025 and the last time he saw action in the NFL was in 2024 with the Miami Dolphins, with whom he had 55 receiving yards and zero touchdowns on nine catches in nine games.
