Mike Houghton, an employee of North York Moors National Park, attended the start of the race and remarked on the community spirit it fostered. "It’s amazing for bringing people out," he said, noting the presence of families and young children who were inspired by the professional cyclists. Cyclist Tony Scott, who traveled 30 miles (48 km) from Thornaby to witness the start, echoed the sentiment of excitement surrounding the event.
