PORT HURON — The second week of high school football in the Blue Water Area showcased some impressive performances as Algonac, Marine City, and St. Clair all emerged victorious, each improving their records to 2-0.
Algonac faced off against Hazel Park and came away with a solid 38-21 win. With this victory, Algonac is now set to host Madison Heights Madison at 7 p.m. on September 11. The team is looking to continue their strong start to the season as they aim for another win in front of their home crowd.
Marine City delivered a commanding performance against Woods-Tower, winning decisively with a score of 69-24. Luke Muscat was a standout player, rushing for an impressive 207 yards and scoring four touchdowns. His efforts were complemented by Jaben Holden, who added 107 rushing yards and two touchdowns of his own. Defensively, Jacob Loper contributed significantly with nine tackles, including four solo efforts, and a sack.
