VfB Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeness revealed that there was a power outage in his team's locker room during half-time of their Bundesliga opener against Bayern Munich in the Allianz Arena on Friday evening.
"There was no light in the locker room. It was still bright enough, we could see each other, we didn't trip or anything, everything was fine," he told broadcaster Sky after the 5-1 defeat.
Hoeness was visibly dejected after the match. Stuttgart's game plan seemed to be working for more than 50 minutes, and they even manage to level the score 1-1 in the 52nd minute.
In the end, however, Hoeness saw flashbacks from three months ago, when Bayern beat his side 3-0 to win the German Cup.
"Bayern are ruthless, they don't need much, and they just never stop," Hoeness said.
"We need to improve, no question. Bayern will beat many other teams here, probably by an even bigger margin than they did against us, but even so, we have to set our sights on playing better."
