Bayern Munich romped to a 5-1 victory over VfB Stuttgart on the opening day of the 2026/27 Bundesliga season, with goals from Dayot Upamecano, Michael Olise, an own goal from Josha Vagnoman, Luis Díaz, and Aleksandar Pavlović. Bayern summer signing Ismael Saibari recorded two assists in this match, setting up Díaz and Pavlović, which put him in an exclusive club of debutants:
2 – Ismail Saibari ist der sechste Spieler seit det. Datenerfassung (2004/05), dem beim Bundesliga-Debüt zwei Assist gelingen nach Luis Diaz, Robbie Kruse, Shinji Ono, Toni Kroos und Diego (alle je 2). Bereicherung. #FCBVFBpic.twitter.com/Oz4pcIAKQD
— OptaFranz (@OptaFranz) August 28, 20262 – Ismail Saibari is the sixth player since records began (2004–05) to record two assists in his Bundesliga debut, following Luis Diaz, Robbie Kruse, Shinji Ono, Toni Kroos, and Diego [Ribas] (all with two each). A great addition. #FCBVFB
The Moroccan international replaced Nathaniel Brown in the second half and got to work straight away as Bayern put the game beyond the reach of Stuttgart. The first assist was a pinpoint pass that bypassed Stuttgart’s defensive lines and found its way to Díaz, who promptly put the shot away. The second one was fending off pressure from a Stuttgart defender and showing great balance and timing to wait for the onrushing Pavlović to lay it off to him.
