The Cincinnati Bengals had a scary moment occur during practice on Tuesday as star wideout Ja'Marr Chase went down with an apparent injury.
The Bengals were in the middle of a team period when Chase was targeted on a downfield pass by Joe Burrow. The defense broke up the pass, and as Chase landed, he fell to the ground while clutching his knee and took a bit of time to get up.

— Yanni Tragellis (@yannitragellis) August 25, 2026Fortunately for Chase and the Bengals, it appeared to be just a scare, not a serious injury. After the trainers came out to check him out, Chase was able to walk off the field under his own power, with his limp reportedly gone. He didn't return to practice immediately, and additional video showed him walking a bit gingerly. Still, he was walking around the practice field and shared a few words with his quarterback.
The Bengals have struggled with poor injury luck in recent seasons, particularly involving their star quarterback, Joe Burrow. And if they want to get back to the postseason this year, they'll want to keep all their top stars healthy – not just their quarterback. And there are few more important pieces to the offense than Chase, who is one of the top wideouts in the league. There has been no further update on Chase since the injury scare occurred.
