King Boylston, a standout quarterback from Jacksonville, Florida, has made headlines by committing to play college football at the United States Naval Academy. The senior athlete has already etched his name in the Sunshine State record books, having scored a remarkable 537 points during the 2025 regular season while leading Ed White High School.
Boylston, who stands at 6 feet 1 inch and weighs 195 pounds, chose Navy over several other Division I offers, including Florida Atlantic University, Georgia Southern University, and Jacksonville State University. His decision marks a significant step in his athletic career, as he prepares to transition from high school football to the collegiate level.
During his junior year, Boylston showcased his dual-threat capabilities, completing 114 of 185 passes for 2,091 yards, resulting in 25 touchdowns against just six interceptions. Additionally, he demonstrated his rushing prowess by accumulating 712 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground, marking his second consecutive season surpassing the 2,000-yard passing milestone.
Football runs in the Boylston family; King’s older brother, Kyle Boylston, also excelled in sports, playing both baseball and football at Florida Atlantic. Kyle recently signed with the Seattle Mariners organization and is currently competing with their Rookie-level affiliate in the Arizona Complex League.
King Boylston's commitment to Navy comes at a time when several other local high school athletes are also making their college decisions. For instance, Fletcher High School quarterback Ty Keister has announced his commitment to the University of Mary in North Dakota. Keister had a solid season last year, passing for 559 yards and rushing for an additional 343 yards.
Beachside High School wide receiver Brennan Monaco has also made waves by committing to East Tennessee State University after a productive season where he caught 44 passes for 474 yards. Meanwhile, Ribault's Jalen Peters has pledged to Morgan State after a standout junior year, during which he recorded 65 tackles, including 11 sacks.
In addition to these commitments, Fernandina Beach wide receiver Aydin Poe has chosen Charleston Southern University, following a season where he caught 45 passes for 821 yards and 12 touchdowns.
As the high school football season approaches, the excitement in Jacksonville continues to build. The Nease-White football kickoff classic, initially scheduled for Nease, has now been moved to Ponte Vedra’s home field, set for 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 13. This change follows a series of relocations due to field installation issues.
In other local sports news, Ponte Vedra's state champion lacrosse team saw ten players named to the Florida State Lacrosse Coaches Association's All-State teams, highlighting their impressive performance during the 2026 boys' spring season. Junior midfielder Myles Buckley, among others, has also announced his commitment to Sewanee.
As the new season of fall sports kicks off, Jacksonville's high school athletes are eager to showcase their talents and continue the tradition of excellence in Florida high school athletics.
