Cutdown day is upon us. The Jets have until 6:00 pm Sunday evening to cut their roster from 90 players down to 53.
With the final preseason game in the books, the Jets will get to work. I think it is fair to say that most of the cuts will not come as a surprise. There are only a few bubble players currently on the roster. The vast majority are either obvious keeps or obvious cuts. Thus we will see the Jets begin the process of releasing players immediately. We can, however, expect them to wait until the last minute with some of their toughest decisions in case a team wants to make a trade.
The Jets will hope to surprise with the 53 players they do choose as they have the third worst odds in the league to make the Playoffs at +700 according to our partner, FanDuel Sportsbook.
We will keep a running list of the players who have been released.
