Luton Town has completed the signing of Dan Gore, a defensive midfielder from Manchester United, on a loan deal that will see him stay with the Hatters for the remainder of the season. This move is part of Luton's strategy to strengthen their squad as they navigate the challenges of the current campaign.

The 21-year-old midfielder joins Luton with a conditional option for the club to purchase him outright next summer, indicating the club's long-term interest in his development. Gore has had limited first-team exposure at Manchester United, making just two substitute appearances this season. His first came in a League Cup match against Crystal Palace in September 2023, followed by a brief appearance in a Premier League fixture against Aston Villa three months later.

Before this loan move, Gore spent the previous season at Rotherham United, where he made a significant impact by appearing in 41 matches and scoring once. His time at Rotherham, despite the team's relegation from the Championship, was described by Gore as a valuable learning experience. He expressed his eagerness to build upon that experience at Luton, stating, "I had a good time at Rotherham, despite the relegation. I learnt a lot and the club's done a lot for me, so it was a good experience. I'm just looking to build on it now at Luton."

Luton Town's head coach, Jack Wilshere, has expressed confidence in Gore's abilities, highlighting his performance during their earlier encounter with Rotherham. Wilshere noted, "Dan was someone who, when we played Rotherham in the home game quite early on in our time here and drew 0-0, we spoke about as coaches, saying that we really liked him. He's got something a little bit different. He's aggressive in duels. He can carry the ball. He's got personality on the pitch. He loves a tackle, and he's someone that we kept our eye on in the second game up there."

This acquisition comes as Luton prepares for their next fixture against Stockport County at home on Wednesday evening. The club will be looking to integrate Gore into their lineup quickly, hoping his skills will bolster their midfield as they strive for better results in the ongoing season.
