Manager Dick Scott returns as Syracuse falls to Lehigh Valley

ALLENTOWN, P.A. (WSYR-TV) -

Tuesday night marked Syracuse Mets manager Dick Scott's first game back since he announced his diagnosis with kidney cancer back in July. However, Syracuse could not complete the win as they fell to Lehigh Valley 2-1.

Mark Vientos was in Tuesday's lineup, down on a rehab assignment with the big league Mets. Vientos finished the night 0-3 with two strikeouts.

Lehigh Valley would get on the board in the top of the first inning, thanks to Keaton Anthony's two-run homer.

Syracuse would cut the lead in half with a home run from Ronny Mauricio in the fourth. The Mets though were held to just five hits, snapping their four-game winning streak.

Syracuse and Lehigh Valley will be back in action on Wednesday August 26th at Coca-Cola Park. First pitch is set for 6:45 p.m.
