Zimbabwe Cricket has officially announced the appointment of Mark Coles as the head coach of the Zimbabwe women's national cricket team. This decision follows an extensive recruitment process aimed at finding a qualified leader to guide the team through an important phase in its development.
Coles arrives with a wealth of international coaching experience, having previously held the head coach position for both the Pakistan and Scotland women's teams. His background also includes roles with the Scotland men's team, serving as High Performance Manager at Cricket Papua New Guinea, and various coaching consultancy positions in Australia. This diverse experience is expected to bring a fresh perspective to Zimbabwe women's cricket.
The timing of Coles' appointment is crucial, as it precedes Zimbabwe's five-match T20I series against South Africa, which is set to commence at Queens Sports Club on Friday.
