Earlier this week, there were concerns regarding the scheduling of the game against Eastern Michigan, as it was reported that it might coincide with the Texas matchup. However, a spokesperson for the team clarified that the adjustments were necessary due to the season's earlier start, assuring fans that the game in Austin would proceed as planned.
This adjustment also means that Michigan will enjoy two bye weeks during the 2027 season, although the specific dates for these breaks are yet to be finalized. The Wolverines' trip to Texas will mark the second leg of a home-and-home series with the Longhorns, following their initial matchup in 2024 when Texas visited Ann Arbor and secured a 31-12 victory.
