New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel was clearly not happy with the team's performance on Thursday night, as they got obliterated in a 37-13 loss to the Cleveland Browns in the preseason finale.
Both teams rested their starters, and that might be the only shred of a silver lining for Patriots fans after watching the team get stomped into the ground in primetime. The Patriots have a talented roster at the top, but once you start digging into the second and third string, things get scary.
"Not good enough. Couldn't match the speed of the quarterback and zone read and some of those things. But we'll get back to work and figure out who we're going to get back to work with," Vrabel said after the game.
With the preseason now in the rearview, Vrabel will work on shaping his 53-man roster ahead of the start of the 2026 season.
That means he will have to make some tough decisions on roster cuts, and given the poor performance on Thursday night, there aren't many backups on the depth chart that should be feeling safe.
