In Carleton, Jefferson improved to a 2-0 record after defeating Airport 32-13. The Bears faced a challenge with their star quarterback, Luke Beaudrie, sidelined due to injury. However, backup quarterbacks Ryan Roberts and Grady Brooks stepped up, each throwing touchdown passes. Jefferson led 8-0 at halftime, narrowly missing an opportunity to extend their lead just before the break. Airport made a push in the third quarter, closing the gap to 8-7 with a touchdown pass from Colton Alston to Mason Stoneburner.
