Their schedule has been designed to challenge the team, featuring eight road matches in the first ten games of the season, including tough contests against Racine Southern and Fairfield Christian Academy.
Herrforth emphasized the importance of a rigorous nonconference schedule, stating, "I wanted to schedule more matches that would challenge us and give the girls more competition, because I want them to be prepared for tournament time and expect more out of them. They’re really responding." This approach has clearly paid off, as the team has demonstrated resilience and skill in their early matches.
Offensively, junior Daisy Hamilton and sophomore Rilyn Holbrook have emerged as key contributors, combining for 50 kills as of August 31. Their dynamic play is central to the team's 6-2 formation, with Hamilton being Herrforth's younger sister and Holbrook being the daughter of their high school coach, Kendra Holbrook.
