OGC Nice are poised to sign Algeria international winger Mohamed Amoura (26) from 2. Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg, according to L’Equipe. Les Aiglons and Wolfsburg are reportedly close to reaching an agreement on a loan move which includes a €20m option to make Amoura’s switch to the INEOS-owned Ligue 1 club permanent. The outlet adds that an agreement is expected to be reached on Saturday, paving the way for Amoura to undergo a medical.
L’Equipe understands that OGC Nice have beaten the likes of Lyon, Rennes and Udinese in the race to sign Amoura. The Algeria international would complement Eintracht Frankfurt loanee Elye Wahi in Olivier Pantaloni’s attacking set-up. Amoura rose to prominence two years ago with a breakthrough campaign with Union Royale Saint-Gilloise, with which he scored 22 goals in 45 games. OGC Nice play Paris FC away on Sunday.
