The New York Giants have cut eight players from their 90-man roster ahead of the deadline on 6 p.m. Sunday.

WR Kobe Prentice
TE Josiah Deguera
OL Brenden Jaimes
RB Damon Bankston
DT Leki Fotu
LB Anfernee Jenings
CB Ugo Amadi
Several of those players aren’t surprising cuts. However some, like RB Damon Bankston, iOL Brenden Jaimes, LB Anfernee Jennigns, iDL Leki Fotu, or WR Isaiah Hodgins could land on the Giants’ practice squad.
Hodgins, Bankston, Jaimes, and Fotu, in particular are interesting.
Hodgins, as Giants fans are well aware, was a key piece for the Giants’ playoff run in 2022. He isn’t an exciting receiver, however he has good size, solid hands, and good route running. Likewise, Damon Bankston showed promise as a reserve running back and potential special teams contributor this pre-season.
Fotu was a rotational piece for the Giants’ defensive line, and could be on the speed dial in case of emergency this year. Finally, Brenden Jaimes has starting experience at center in the NFL, and could be a useful piece if the Giants don’t retain Lucas Patrick or cut Jake Kubas and sign him to their practice squad.
