Roberto De Zerbi is at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush is set to undergo a medical at Tottenham Hotspur today ahead of finalising his move to North London, according to Telegraph reporter Mike McGrath.
Tottenham have reached a full verbal agreement with Manchester City for the Egyptian international. The deal is structured as an initial season-long loan with a conditional obligation to buy for £50 million. With personal terms already agreed, Marmoush has travelled to London to complete the move.
The move follows Tottenham’s signing of Brazilian winger Savio from Manchester City. After a heavy 3-0 defeat to Brentford in their Premier League opener, Spurs have responded by strengthening their attack with two signings, much to the delight of Roberto De Zerbi. Marmoush gives De Zerbi a dynamic and versatile option who can play as a centre-forward, secondary striker, or winger.
For Manchester City, Marmoush’s departure streamlines their attack and raises significant funds. The ‘special’ 27-year-old forward joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025 for around £59 million. He scored 16 goals and provided four assists in 62 appearances in all competitions, but regular starts were limited due to competition with Erling Haaland.
Once he completes his medical and is officially unveiled, Marmoush will become the third Egyptian to play for Tottenham, following in the footsteps of former striker Mido and midfielder Hossam Ghaly.
The deal also pushes Tottenham’s summer transfer spending past £400 million, including the obligation to buy.
However, Spurs are not finished in the market, with one more attacker still on their radar. Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo is the top target, but the Reds must sign a replacement before allowing him to leave.
