As reported by David Ornstein on Saturday morning, Bradley Barcola is expected to have a medical with Liverpool in the next 24 hours and sign a five-year contract at Anfield.
After weeks of speculation, the Reds are set to complete the signing of the France winger from Paris Saint-Germain, where he’s been frozen out at the start of this season amid the uncertainty over his future.
Barcola set to have Liverpool medical todayJust before 8am this morning, Ornstein reported for The Athletic that the two clubs have finalised an agreement over the 23-year-old’s imminent move to England, with LFC paying £106m up front and a potential £17m more in add-ons, as also called by Alex Crook.
Barcola is expected to sign a five-year deal with Liverpool, and a medical is due to take place within the next 24 hours as the transfer enters its final stages.
The French winger has been committed to joining the Reds throughout the summer despite having two years remaining on his contract with PSG, with a breakthrough in negotiations finally being reached earlier this week.

The Reds are banking a massive amount of money on the Frenchman being a success, but having pursued him for a number of weeks and agreed to pay more than £100m for him, they’re clearly convinced that he’s capable of being the elite-level Mo Salah replacement we’re all craving.
A five-year deal would theoretically keep him at the club until he’s nearly 29 and ensure that he’s at Anfield for what’ll likely be his peak footballing years. Also, whereas he was never guaranteed a starting spot at PSG, he’s set to be a fixed name in Andoni Iraola’s XI whenever he’s fit and available.
Liverpool will hope that Barcola can make a more immediate impact than their other two £100m+ signings, with neither Florian Wirtz nor Alexander Isak enjoying a particularly prolific first season with the Reds after coming to Merseyside last year.
To spend that much money on him is obviously a big gamble, but it’s one which shows the kind of ambition in the transfer market that many supporters have often called for FSG to demonstrate.
